Bending The Universe (2016)

Bending The Universe was my debut book of poetry which I wrote in high school and published the year I graduated, in 2016, which became a bestseller and was subsequently picked up by a publisher. While it was important to my personal artistic journey and I wouldn’t be who I am today if I hadn’t written it, it is of course hard to look at something you made as a teenager and feel that it really holds up. Growing past this book taught me the importance of accepting imperfections in your output as an artist.

Our Naked Souls (2020)

My second poetry book, Our Naked Souls, is a project I’m still really proud of. This one also became an international bestseller despite being released during covid. I really dug deep in my life experience and worked through a lot as an artist, and I’m really proud of how it turned out. While I feel that my first book doesn’t really hold up to my present-day standards, I think Our Naked Souls is a great book that taught me a tremendous amount about myself and the experience of being human. The illustrations by my friend Travis Kalani really add a lot as well.

Ghostwriting

Obviously I wouldn’t be a very good ghostwriter if I got into too much detail about the people and projects I’ve written for, but I can say that it taught me a lot about creating products and making good things in short amounts of time, and capturing the soul of someone else’s artistic vision with my own penchant for execution. Nowadays I am very selective about my ghostwriting projects as my time is limited, but feel free to reach out if you want to discuss a compelling project with a compelling budget.
